Tobacco, Guernsey and The First World War

I recently found this excerpt from a longer BBC radio program regarding Guernsey and WW1, which specifically covers the development of a huge tobacco business on island in 1916.  It’s a fascinating listen in many ways, not least the different attitudes to tobacco 100 years ago and the many ups and downs of the main protagonist, and will obviously have a greater resonance for anyone who lives or has spent time on our fair island… If you have 10 minutes to spare, I highly recommend you settle down for a listen!  Enjoy…
