Due to the high demand we experienced for last year's stunning 30th Anniversary pipes it is clear that there continues to be an appetite within the pipe-smoking fraternity for high quality, hand crafted, limited edition pipes. To that end we bring you the Polar Explorer. Available in strictly limited numbers this Carey 9mm pipe is hand made to celebrate the achievements of one of our customers, Mark Langridge (pictured below).
You may recall that Mark undertook his Solo Antarctica expedition (www.soloantarctica.com) almost exactly one year ago in aid of a number of charities, and in so doing became only the 8th person ever to walk solo and unsupported to the South Pole. He also became the first person ever to smoke a Carey pipe at the Pole (as far as we know!). To recognise this feat in our own small way we decided to dedicate the first in a new line of strictly limited edition pipes to his achievement.
This beautiful pipe is made from top quality briar, hand painted in a high gloss, snow white lacquer and married to an ice clear, hand cut acrylic stem. An aluminium band etched with the words 'Polar Explorer' provides the finishing touch. It is delivered in a Presentation Box, and comes with a clear Perspex display stand (as shown), a 3-in-1 pipe tool and replacement 9mm filters. The price for this unique package is only £99.95.
